What’s Inspiring My Designs This Season
The best homes don’t just look beautiful, they live beautifully. Right now, design is leaning into warmth, personality, and craftsmanship in ways that align perfectly with timeless, high-end living. Here are the trends I’m loving, and how I’m weaving them into projects for clients who want both sophistication and soul in their homes.
1. Moody Earth Tones with Depth
Cool gray minimalism is officially out. Instead, deep, moody earth tones like chocolate brown, plum, burgundy, and olive are layered into spaces for a cozy but elevated feel. These palettes feel grounded, but with the right textures (think velvet, natural stone, plaster walls), they become rich and dramatic.

2. Sculptural Lighting as Art
Lighting isn’t just functional anymore…it’s sculptural art. From Murano-inspired glass pendants to statement chandeliers, bold lighting is defining entire rooms. I love this shift because it blends architecture and design in one intentional statement.

3. Curves & Soft Geometry
Arches, rounded edges, scalloped details, and curved furniture are showing up everywhere, and it’s no surprise. They soften a space, encourage flow, and feel luxurious without being fussy. I especially love incorporating curved islands or arched cabinetry in kitchens, which create that balance of functionality + elegance.

4. Rich Material Layers
Design is shifting toward material drenching using one finish (like plaster, stone, or wood) across multiple surfaces for a cocoon-like effect. Combined with layered textiles and natural finishes, it creates depth without chaos. Think stone-wrapped fireplaces, wood-paneled powder baths, or plaster ceilings that glow with uplighting.

5. Flex Rooms Over Formal Spaces
The traditional formal dining room is disappearing in new construction, making way for flex spaces—rooms that evolve with you. Whether it’s a library, wine room, or hybrid dining-study, the future of design is about rooms that earn their keep.

6. Elevated Function: Beautifully Useful
From statement appliances in matte finishes or bold colors to layered ceiling details that add dimension, design is embracing “functional drama.” Every choice should be beautiful, but also practical for everyday living—a philosophy we live by in every project.

Final Thoughts
What I’m loving right now isn’t about fleeting “fast trends.” It’s about investment design that includes layers of color, material, and craftsmanship that feel timeless, but still very now. These ideas inspire me daily as we design homes that are as functional as they are unforgettable.
Love,
Lindsay
